The Book

The Body Efficiency Method

The opposite of exercise.

Ten chapters that build a single idea from first principles: structure, geometry, tension, elasticity and awareness, and how they combine so that you can use more of the body to use less effort. Around fifty illustrations, drawn directly from the companion app.

The book and the app

Two ways into the same system.

The Body Efficiency Method book explains the system from first principles. The companion app lets you explore the body's structure, geometry and movement directly.

They are separate. The book will be available through the shop. The app will be available to members, with membership opening soon on The Coherence Studio website.

The book provides the explanation. The app provides the practical environment in which to explore it.

Level 1 — The Foundations

What the first level of the app contains.

Available to members. Level 1 lets you inspect the canonical body, turn it, strip it back to its geometry, and watch the three neutral states derived from it.

Natural Body

The body as it is before habit, restriction and effort reshape it.

Whole Body

Seeing the body as one connected structure rather than separate parts.

Floating Neutral

Every joint at the midpoint of its range — nothing pulling anywhere.

Neutral Stance

The same joint set, met by gravity and balanced over the feet.

Upright Neutral

The pelvis rotating under the spine until the axis stands vertical.

Structural awareness

Feeling where support comes from, rather than where effort comes from.

Basic geometry

The lines, angles and centres that quietly govern every position.

Cantilever structures

How the body holds weight away from its centre without strain.

Movement exploration

First experiments in moving from structure instead of force.

Coming soon — the app will be available to members through The Coherence Studio.

The method continues

The book establishes the principles. The first level of the app provides the foundation.

Further development will introduce progressive training programmes, new movement modules, experiments and deeper levels of practice.
